You can start Microsoft Word 2003 and open documents in several ways. Learning the different methods of launching Word increases your flexibility with the program. For example, you can choose from a wide selection of predefined document templates and wizards to simplify the creation of standard documents such as memos, letters, faxes, newsletters, reports, and so on. You probably already know that, in Windows, you can create a shortcut icon to quickly start Word from your desktop. If you plan to work on the same document for several days, you also can modify the properties of the shortcut icon so that Word automatically starts and then loads the last document that you worked on each time you start Windows.
